"Corks and Curls" Editors.
The editorial staff for the 1901 Corks and Curls, the yearbook at the University of Virginia, poses for a photograph. The art editor, F. Graham Cootes, stands in the back row, at center, taller than the rest of his peers. Cootes went on to become a popular illustrator and portraitist, painting prominent figures in New York and Washington, D.C.
