This photograph provides a view of the Morven Park mansion, in Loudoun County. It was home to Westmoreland Davis, the Democratic governor of Virginia from 1918 to 1922, and his wife, Marguerite Inman Davis. The Davises purchased the 1,200-acre estate and twenty-five-room mansion in 1903. The oldest section of the house dates to about 1780; the house was subsequently remodeled and expanded several times. The house and gardens are now a museum operated by the Westmoreland Davis Memorial Foundation.
