Leonard A. Grimes

An engraving of the Reverend Leonard A. Grimes appears in William J. Simmons's Men of Mark: Eminent, Progressive and Rising (1887). Grimes, born a free African American in Virginia, became the minister of Twelfth Baptist Church in Boston and an activist in the antislavery movement.
